Will kiltz paint adhere to unpaintable caulking?

my chimney was caulked with unpaintable caulking- i tried to paint over with primer-no luck-i tried with KILTZ-it seemed to work in a small section-will it cover the caulking. ? I would like a definite answer as the chimney is 21/2 stories thank you
