Is a 2 week long period normal?

I started my period two weeks ago... and it won't ease up at all. I recently switched birth control pills in the last month from Yasmin to Ortho Tri Cyclen because my doctor said Yasmin was unsafe and being taken off the market. Could that be the cause of my prolonged period? I have read a million different things about what it could be... ovarian cysts, miscarriage, hormone levels changing. I also have 2 children... just a little background info. Both were c-section deliveries. My youngest is 5 months old. Just so you know I already had all that post pregnancy bleeding months ago and I was back on a regular cycle. Please let me know what you think. I know I could always go see my doctor but I don't want to unless I have to.
