Sounds like you haven't really gotten to know him on a more personal basis, instead of talking about school all the time try talking to him about his interests on facebook, if you really like him you could lie and say you are interested in something and there you have a lead on something to talk about. After you could invite him to go on a date, after that it should be obvious enough if he has feelings for you. Also observe how he acts around you, if he tries to act big,strong or looks nervous around you he probably likes you already.
