Diaphragmatic breathing is only the part that causes your stomach to expand and contract. The other type is shallow breathing. If you want to stop the shallow breathing, put one hand on your stomach and one hand on your chest. Breathe in slowly, making sure that your stomach hand is moving and your chest hand is still. Once your stomach hand stops moving, stop breathing in - you've taken a full breath. Then, breathe out the same way.
