Did Obama make a big mistake by not repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" last weekend at the gay rights rally?

Considering that neocons are only smart enough to focus on one issue at a time and by repealing DADT, it would have taken the onus away from health care reform this week and put neocons in an outroar over the repeal of DADT for the forseeable future?
