Don't you think that Prayer Petitions in Church should challenge the congregation?

I get annoyed with the "politically correct" prayer petitions at my local RC Church. Mustn't upset anyone! Don't want to be too "political!" Jeez! They are only prayers! We aren't even allowed to pray for the Archbishop as he discerns with the Holy Spirit as to how best respond to HB 87. I think prayer petitions should remind people they are in a Catholic Church. We need to pray for illegal immigrants and their welfare as the Church says to. What do YOU think?
